Thursday night, August 27th, a small blaze became a 1,225-acre fire that threatened the town of Mosier and shut off electrical power in the Columbia Gorge. Three homes and a barn were lost to the blaze, which began near the Microwave tower on a hilltop west of Mosier and has cost an estimated $1.7 million to fight. Vic and Holley Gove have a dramatic story from the middle of the fire, as the owners of Thundering Hooves Ranch, were surrounded by flames on several points of the 5 day fire.
